WHAT'S TRINUM?
Trinum is the first sun tracking solar concentrator system equipped with a small "free piston" Stirling engine able to generate electric energy, hot water and cold air. One Trinum system cogenerates electric (1 Kwe) and thermal energy (3Kwt) in the form of warm water for sanitary use, heating and solar cooling.
WHAT'S A STIRLING ENGINE?
The Stirling engine it's a device used by Trinum for converting solar energy in electric and thermal energy. It's a closed loop engine that uses a gas as a thermodynamic fluid (usually air, nitrogen, helium or hydrogen in the high efficiency version). The difference of temperature creates a cyclic pulse, that means an alternate movement of the engine pistons, that continues until heat is provided, producing electric and thermal energy. Trinum is equipped with a Stirling engine produced by Microgen Engine Corporation and adapted by Innova for solar use. The Stirling engine has a yearly average efficiency of at least 53% (13% electrical efficiency and 40% thermal efficiency).
WHAT'S COGENERATION?
Cogeneration means the contemporary production of different forms of secondary energies (electric energy and thermal energy) starting from a unique source. In the Trinum system the starting source is the solar radiation for the production of electric and thermal energy.
HOW MUCH SPACE IS OCCUPIED BY TRINUM IN RELATION TO TRADITIONAL SYSTEMS?
With the same production of electric and thermal energy, Trinum makes use of an area that is about the half of the one used by traditional photovoltaic and thermal panels.
HOW MUCH ELECTRIC ENERGY IS PRODUCED BY TRINUM?
With the same rated power, Trinum generates up to 40% more of electric energy than a traditional photovoltaic panel. Trinum generates about 2100 Kw of electric energy yearly taking in consideration the average irradiation in Calabria.

WHAT DOEAS IT MEAN 'TOTALLY RECYCLABLE'?
Trinum system is created using materials such as steel, iron, aluminium and copper that don't require any particular disposal procedure and that can be easily reused in the productive chain.
WHY TRINUM DOESN'T NEED ANY INVERTER?
Trinum system conversion is represented by a Stirling engine that produces alternate electric energy that can be input directly into the electric grid, that's why Trinum doesn't need any inverter.
WHAT DOES IT MEAN 'SOLAR TRACKING'?
Solar tracking is an automated system that is able to track the sun during a whole day in the space of a year. Moreover, Trinum has digital transmission devices for data transmission and for remote control.
